      Top Lists Are Working, Initial Player Retention Is Where We Fail   02/06/2018

      Hey everyone.  I just wanted to give an update on where we are with new players.  We are constantly having new players join each and every day, but when they come online and see less than 10 people online, they don't even give us a chance.  Many of you who have stuck around did give us that chance, and now you are part of our loyal player base.  I know I've talked about this before, but I just wanted to point something out. The top list listings are working. Players who browse the top lists looking for new a potential server actually stop and download ours.  That means they like what they see in the description and the banner, and we get their traffic.  They don't get to really try out what they saw in the listing because they decide they want a larger player base.  It really just stinks, because if half of these people stayed online for more than an hour, they would see other players joining as well as our regular players hopping online. Yesterday, alone (2/6/18), I count 13 new accounts.  Imagine if these players actually gave us a shot.  For this, I ask you...if you are able to be logged in, whether afk or not, please do so.  If you have two accounts, please log in to both of them.  Player count is one of the first things new players look at when they log in.  Without it, people rarely give us a chance.  This isn't about falsifying the player count, it's about player retention.  I think the true player milestone we have to achieve is 25 online at once.  Once we do that, I feel like we'll be good and won't have to have this conversation again Thanks for sticking around, and if you're new, welcome!  Thanks for giving us a shot!

    Hey everyone! Huge update today with some amazing content! Enjoy! Added Elite Clue Scrolls! Elite clue scrolls work in the following ways: You can receive them as a clue scroll reward from any tier (except Elite). You can receive them as a drop from certain bosses (check ::drops) You can only have one at a time. You must complete and turn in your clue scroll or drop and destroy it to receive another. A clue is considered complete when you receive your reward casket. There are four different types of Elite Clue Scrolls: Kill Task: This clue will require you to complete a specific kill task (sort of like slayer, but a little different). After completing the clue, speak with Kuradel (Slayer Master tele or Ancient Cavern tele) to claim your reward. Donation Task: This clue will require you to donate some mid-tier item to the Well of Goodwill. Upon using the required item on the well, you will be given your reward casket. Gather Resources Task: This clue will require you to gather fresh resources and turn them in for your reward. You must actually do the work to gather these resources and not just hand them over after buying them from a shop or pulling them from your bank. Speak to the specified NPC to claim your reward. Acquire Points Task: This clue will require you to gain x amount of points in a certain category. Just like the Gather Resources clues, these points must be newly-gained. Speak to the specified NPC to claim your reward. There are three new achievements associated with completing these clues. Progress will be tracked in the description of the clue, so if you aren't sure how you're doing, read the clue again and it'll tell you. OPENING ELITE CASKETS IS TEMPORARILY DISABLED TO GIVE ME TIME TO ADD MORE REWARDS - KEEP THE CASKETS TO COMPETE IN THE CONTEST Added achievements for solving elite clues Added Hide N Seek minigame! Admin+ staff members can start a hide and seek minigame that auto-generates server messages! It's all formal now! Corrected Zulrah's teal phase to attack with both mage and range Fixed issue where players couldn't range Zulrah from the safe spot behind pillar without stepping into the gas Put in possible fix for issue where Zulrah gets stuck on one phase and doesn't attack. Fixed bug that made adamant bolts when attempting to craft ruby bolts Re-ordered players online interface to better represent rank hierarchy Added big fish catching to fishing! There's currently a 1/250 chance to catch a big bass, big swordfish, or big shark. These were inteded to be wieldable items, but I didn't add the final models into the cache...so if you get one now, enjoy the model glitch! Added achievement for catching a big fish Added "::dropparty" (or "::dp") command! Use this to teleport to the drop party building in Seer's Village Added "::votespecial" command for staff! Staff, use this command to remind players of the current voting special offer. Fixed issue where shops with limited quantities of non-stackable items wouldn't lose stock when items were purchased Fixed issue where players could not claim their last vote point of the day Added new server message and modified old ones Modified more item prices and quantities in shops Minor text changes

    Hey everyone! Here's the much-needed updates for 1-25-18! Integrated with new vote service! Type ::vote in game to be brought to vote page and type ::reward 1 <amount> to claim your vote books! More enhancements may be coming with this shortly. Added new promote and demote commands for use by Owner and Manager. Elite void knight armor now reflects cost shown on screen.

I want to add a bunch of new cool items for you all to get from these clues, but I also want to deliver the content I've already made to you. Before updating, I will be looking through player files to see who the winners are. 1st place: 3 Elite Caskets 2nd place: 2 Elite Caskets 3rd place: 1 Elite Casket With the release of the new items, these extra caskets will give you more changes to receive these them!     You are absolutely right with initial player retention. People log in, stay for 5 minutes and leave. I am not sure if everyone is AFK will completely help tho, since no one will respond to their messages. Also I think it would help if you bring back the function that people automatically join the 'help' CC. Since if people are in convo in this CC they immediately see that there is activity on the server if you know what I mean. They are more prone to interact with other players and ask questions etc to see if they like the server or not.

    Hey all, as you see, I've moved the navigation items around a bit to better accommodate smaller screens. The Play Now button is now extra exciting with an added exclamation point (!), as well as bold text. The order of the items now better reflects their importance as well. Thanks to @Jon and @Virtus for the suggestion.

    Hey everyone! Here's the updates for 1-29-18. These updates are all in an effort to create a better economy for the players and encourage skilling. If you think we may have gone too far with the shop item removal, please let us know. Ideally, this system will work when we have a bit more players with plenty of items to sell, but I'm going to see how it works for now. Balanced some item prices and removed multiple items from shops Reduced quantity of certain items in shops Added dragon dart and dragon arrow drops to Salvage's most dangerous bosses Added dragon darts to casket rewards Added casket to loyalty points store Added new items to stardust shop Changed smithing bolt making to make unfinished bolts instead of completed bolts Added bolt making - now add feathers to unfinished bolts to create usable ammo Added bolt tip making - use a chisel or the chisel in your tool belt on different gems to create bolt tips Added enchanted bolt making - use bolt tips on finished bolts to create enchanted bolts Added oysters to big net fishing rewards for player to be able to make pearl bolts Added two new achievements related to making bolt tips and enchanted bolts Minor text fixes

    THIEVING GUIDE by KABOOYAH Credits - @jdmmills & @Virtus 1. INTRODUCTION Thieving is one the most straightforward skills out there, but still there are some things that might be useful for you to know. 2. TRAINING LOCATIONS There are two main training locations: near the home teleport (or just use thieving teleport) and one the donor zone (::dz). Both locations have the same stands. The only difference between the thieving spot at home and at donorzone is that you can also steal rune items from a Rune Armour stand which gives quite good XP at the donorzone. The Rune Armour stand gives several different Rune items. For example: Rune kiteshields, boots, full helm, plate etc. If you have a donorstatus you will not only have access to the Rune Armour Stand but also all the things that you steal from any stall (except for the Rune Armour Stand) will be noted. This makes it much easier for you to level up obviously. This also works on the stalls at the Regular Thieving Location. It must be noted that there is also a Rune Armour stand in the Extreme Donorzone. This gives you cash instantly instead of the items, which saves you some banking time. So this is the best way to get to 200m XP, since by the time you are an Extreme Donor you probably already have 99 Thieving 3. TRAINING EXPERIENCE The table below shows the amount of experience you will get per stall and money you will earn per item. This translates to the following amount of items that you will need to steal: The items which you steal can be sold to the guy standing right next to the stalls. Thieving is not the best way to make money, but it does makes some money. The table below shows how much money you will make. Note that the Rune Armour stand is not included do to the variances in prices. GOOD LUCK!
